It was my wife's birthday today and we went out for dinner with our
son, DiL and the 15 month old grandson. She ordered the Tiger
Shrimp and Octopus, bold move on her part since she had reacted
badly to shrimp a few times. Son, DiL and I all had their Moroccan
lamb shanks. They had had then there before and knew how good they
were. My son normally doesn't even like lamb but he loves that
dish. The birthday girl had a (gluten free) Neopolitan Mousse for dessert. She insisted that I try it. It was pretty darned good.

The little guy was an angel. He was all smiles most of the time and
was happy to share his parents' dinner. There was no fussing. That
was a relief. It was the first time that he had been out to a nice restaurant with then and the guy. We will be doing that again.

I went to a funeral with a neighbor. The family enjoys singing - a
lot. A woman that was singing was loud while hitting high notes.
That's something you don't see everyday. At the end, there was a
family choir singing an inspirational piece. It was an unusual
funeral. I still got tinnitus from that. It was a Filipino funeral so
to me and my neighbor, it seemed way too joyous.

Afterwards, we had food. My neighbor is a skinny little thing. I said
"boy, you sure eat a lot of food!" I'm a real cut-up. I do this thing
where I touch people on the shoulder to show that I'm just joshing.
    It's a very classy move.

My auntie had a okazuya back in the old days. She would make maki sushi and fried
chicken and a lot of other dishes. The customer would order food items ala carte
in the morning to eat at work during lunch. Back then, a plate would cost a couple of bucks these days, it would cost about 20 bucks.

Since you were in the hearing aid business you should know about the equilightness curve. People tend to hear best in the mid range
frequencies and loudness perception drops off in the low and high frequencies, so if she sounded louder on the high notes I imagine she
was singing even louder than your realized.

That looks a lot more interesting than what I usually see in a church
    hall dead spread.

Most people with hearing loss will lose their hearing starting at around 2000Hz.
I probably can't hear anything over 8KHz. That's okay. People that work around machinery or factories might lose all hearing above 1KHz - to 2KHz. That's kind
    of sad.

As far as the food goes, I just took a few food items and left most of the food on the table. I pretty much lost my appetite these days.

What do you think of the new low price OTC aid you can buy on line?

My hearing is not perfect, not so bad that I want to spend $5000 though.
I'd consider the $200 ones though.
